~Hawaii - Day 4~

Today we got up bright and early to go swim with the sharks. It was awesome!!! We drove up to the North Shore to do it. We got on a boat and headed out. On the way to where we were going to be dropped into the water we saw a ton of spinner dolphins. That was way cool too. We were actually in a cage in the water not just swimming around with the sharks, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way :) There were dozens of sharks swimming around our cage. They ranged from 10 to 12 feet in length. It was awesome. In fact, it was one of my favorite things that we did on our trip. Maybe because I've always liked learning about sharks. We were under water with the sharks for about 30 minutes, it was awesome.
We got a video of us underwater with all of the sharks. They got really close to the cage, it was sooo cool!!!

After our turn in the cage, the waves got really big which made us sea sick. It didn't help that one of the woman on board with us was throwing up a ton. But Dave and I kept our cool, but it did take until the next day for us to feel normal again. But it was worth it :)
After swimming with the sharks, we decided to drive around the island. We drove to the Hawaiian Temple (which is under construction), but the temple grounds are beautiful. It was fun driving around the island, we saw a lot of pretty sights that we wouldn't normally see.

That night we headed to Paradise Cove for a Luau. The grounds there were beautiful!!!

We even got Hawaiian tatoos (temporary).

The highlight of the night for Dave was when we were watching the ceremony of them taking the pig out of the ground. An F22 Raptor flew by (totally showing off what it could do). He flew back and forth infront of us for a good 20 minutes to a half and hour doing tricks. I kind of felt bad for the people performing at the ceremony because you couldn't hear a thing they were saying, couldn't hear them sing, and no one was watching the dancers. Everyone was watching the F22 Raptor. It was cool, he'd fly straight up in the air (I've never seen a plane do that) and then would cut the power and free fall to the ocean below. He was flipping and turning the whole way down, then right before he'd hit the ocean he'd power up and fly straight back up into the sky. He did this over and over again. Then he'd fly by super fast, low to the ground, doing twists in the air and flying upside down. It was awesome, and like I say the highlight of Dave's night :)

The sunset was beautiful. This was the perfect spot to see it.

The food was delicious!
