~Soccer Has Begun~

So for the next couple months, our Saturdays will be filled with soccer games :) It has started up again and was fun to go and watch the kids run their little tails off.

Mckell's team is called the Rascals. Her coach is so cute with the girls. Everytime one of them scores a goal, he throws them up in the air. Mckell loves that. She ran so hard today and made a goal!!! YEAH!!! She loved getting thrown in the air :)
Hunter's team is called the Silver Bullets. He played sooo good today. He ran his butt off, which made Dave proud. He also scored a goal, the first one of the game, and was soo excited.
We told the kids a couple of years ago that for each goal they made they would earn $1. It's funny that they remember that. I guess Dave and I need to stock up on 1's.

~Goats, LLamas, and Pigs! Oh My!~

Yesterday, after Hunter got home from his first official day of school, Grandma Ropelato took all of the grandkids to Carvers Cove. It was so much fun interacting with all of the animals there. Lexi was in heaven. She LOVED the animals! Carvers Cove had so many baby animals, that it was fun to see. There were baby goats, pigs, cats, and chickens. And to top it off the kids got to ride a horse. So much fun!
Lexi LOVED feeding the animals. She was not afraid of them at all.
This little goat Hunter is feeding followed us around the whole time wanting to be fed. And if we didn't notice him, he'd jump on us. :)
Lexi loved holding the baby kittens, but Mckell loved it most of all. Several times when I didn't know where she'd gone, I'd find her over by the kittens holding one.

Carver's Cove was so much fun. The animals were lively, I loved that you could touch them and feed them, and there were so many of them. Such a fun place to visit!

~Hunter's First Official Day of School~

I can't believe how fast my baby is growing. He is now a big second grader. He said that his first day of school was fun. His favorite thing about his school day was at recess (of course) he was playing a soccer game with a bunch of boys and ended up making 3 goals for his team. He kept emphasizing that they were the only goals his team made, and it was against the 2 best soccer players in the second grade. He was pretty proud of himself.

~Hunter's First Day of School~

Today was Hunter's first day in 2nd grade, and he wasn't there. He woke up early this morning and felt fine. As we started getting ready for school, Hunter started complaining that his throat hurt and that he was freezing cold. I felt his forehead and he was burning up. Now I hate to admit that I thought "I'll just give him some Motrin and send him to school anyway". I mean, it is the first day of school, and you can't miss that, right. Well as the morning went on Hunter just looked worse and worse. I knew he was really sick when he said he didn't want to go up the street to have the Back to School Breakfast with all the nieghbor kids. I decided we'd skip school and head to the doctors office instead.
By the time we got to the doctor's office the Motrin had kicked in, so Hunter didn't really have a fever anymore and his throat wasn't really hurting. The nurses kind of teased that he was faking so he didn't have to go to school. I knew he wasn't, but I was starting to feel really dumb for bringing him in. Well, they did a strep test and it came back positive. I am so glad I didn't send him to school. So, needless to say, the first day of school will be spent laying on the couch watching movies :)

~Last Week of Summer~

I can't believe that next week the kids will be back in school. This summer really has gone way to fast. I know most parents can't wait until their kids go back to school, but I'm not one of those. I am really going to miss spending the day with them :) Well, since this was the last week of summer the kids and I kept busy. We went to the temple to walk around and see it before they remodel it, we had a pool party with many of the kids from the neighborhood, we had many late night movies, had a slumber party in my room (Dave was in New York for the week), and a lot more.I don't know what is up with Hunter's smile in this picture. :)
Grandma and Grandpa Ropelato went to visit the church sites in New York for their anniversary, so while they were gone we had a pool party at their house :) Grandma has been telling the kids all summer that they could invite all their friends up for a party. We finally did it.

There were about 20 kids in the pool, and they all had a blast!!! We'll have to do something like this every year. Thanks Grandma!!!

The boats were the hit of the party. Everyone wanted to be in a boat :) They loved going down the slide into a boat, trying to flip others out of the boat, and paddling in the deep end in a boat.

Mckell and Hunter have been little fish this year. Hunter has learned to swim without floaties in the deep end, and can go off the diving board without floaties. Mckell can also swim without floaties (although she stays out of the deep, thank goodness). She LOVES to get on her goggles and swim at the bottom of the pool looking at stuff. Hunter also LOVES swimming around with his goggles.

One night the kids and I were planning on sleeping over at Grandma and Grandpa Wangsgard's house on their trampoline. We went over, played on the tramp, roasted marshmellows on a fire, and played on the wiggle cars. However, we didn't end up sleeping over because their mom (me) is a woose. It looked like it was going to rain, and I didn't want to wake up in the middle of the night with it pouring and me trying to get everyone plus their bedding inside :) So we stayed late and then went home and slept in our own beds.

Lexi LOVES jumping on the trampoline. She is getting so grown up. She had a stuffed rabbit with her and she place it to the side of the tramp, she would tell it to watch, then she'd do a trick, then run over to it and say something. It was hilarious.

One of the kids favorite things is to pull the slide over to the tramp, then jump off the slide onto the tramp. It makes me sooo nervous when they do it, and my brother Richard makes fun of me because that is what we used to do growing up :) Boy how times change!

We ended the week with picking Dave up from the airport. We had a fun week, but are so glad that he is back home. :)
