~24th of July~

We've done a lot of activities to celebrate the 24th of July this year.  I think mainly it is because my brother Richard and his family are visiting from Kentucky, so my dad has planned something each night.  It's been a lot of fun, but at the same time a little crazy because Dave has been in New York this week so It's been just me hauling 4 kids around to things.  It's been crazy, but fun.

We started the 24th celebrations with the Ogden Rodeo.  We went for "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" night.  The kids each got a pink hat.  It was fun.  The kids really liked the bull rides and the motorcycles.

The next morning we headed out for the Ogden parade, in the rain.

But the fun doesn't end there.  We also headed for a picnic to the Splash Pad in Riverdale.  The kids had fun playing in the water with Paisley.
They were freezing!  I guess that is what you get when you go at the end of the day when the sun is setting.
It really is fun getting together as family.  My kids like having a cousin on the Wangsgard side (finally, lol) to play with.

~Annual Wangsgard Reunion~

I was a little hesitant on going to the Wangsgard reunion this year because of the weather.  Normally it wouldn't bother me, but with a newborn baby, the idea of sitting out in the rain really didn't sit well with me.  The weather report said rain, but my dad kept insisting it wasn't raining at the reunion, so I caved and went.  When I pulled into the parking area it was raining, but my dad kept insisting that they were under trees and it wasn't raining on them at all, so I went in.  I had been there about 10 minutes when it just started pouring.  Everyone ran and huddled together under the bowery until the rain stopped.  After the rain stopped and the sun came out and we had a lot of fun playing games.  I am glad I went inspite of the weather.
You can't tell in the picture, but Hunter's clothes are sopping wet.
As soon as the sun came out, the games began.  Laney and Bobby had planned a lot of fun games.

The kids always look forward to the candy cannon, the relay races, and playing on the big swings.  I'm glad we went :)

~Happy 4th of July~

I love that the kids enjoy doing the same traditions I had growing up.  As a kid, every 4th of July was spent riding in the North Ogden kids parade, then staying for the main parade to collect candy.  I love that the kids get excited about the parade too.
One sign that Hunter is growing up is that he did not want to decorate his bike with balloons and streamers this year :(
Dave was a trooper to pull Lexi in her wagon for the kids parade.  This is the first year she rode in the wagon alone.  She looked kind of lonely :)  It's good that next year she'll have Garrett.

After the parade, we headed to Marc and Randee's house for swimming. The kids had a lot of fun splashing around.
Later that evening, we headed to my parents house for a BBQ and to watch the fireworks.

It was a fun day!  Happy 4th of July!!!

~The Summer Games~

This weekend we headed down to St. George to stay at Dave's mom and dad's house.  The whole entire family was there to participate in the Utah Summer Games in Cedar City.  The kids loved playing with their cousins, and had fun earning medals.  Hunter participated in 3 events this year.  He did the High Jump (which he won a Silver medal in), he did the long jump (where he took the Bronze medal), and then he did the 100 meter race.
This year we had Mckell participate in 2 events.  She did the 100 meter race (which she took 3rd place in her heat) and she did the long jump.  She had a lot of fun, and got a participation medal for the race.

Dave participated in the high jump and the long jump this year.  He got a Gold Medal in the high jump and then got Silver in the long jump.
Once again the Ropelato's cleaned house.  Our family took home quite a few medals.
Even Garrett was happy to be there :)
Back at the house the kids had a blast playing in the Harry Potter area, playing dress up, and dancing to music.  They really have fun playing with their cousins.

We went for a 9:00 evening ride cause it was way too hot during the day.  Even at 9:00 it was in the high 80's low 90's.
Late one night, Darinda had a Star Party.  She gave all the kids glow necklaces and they went out on the balcony to play around and look at the stars.
Lexi missed the party.  She fell asleep before it started and we couldn't wake her for anything.  But she didn't miss out on all the fun.  The next evening the whole family went and saw Disney's Brave and then went out to eat.  It was a really fun weekend.
Garrett really started smiling a lot over the weekend.  He's such a cutie!
We had a GREAT weekend, I love my family!!!!!
