~Happy Birthday Baby!~

My baby is 1!  I can't believe how fast this year has gone.  Garrett is such a fun little guy.  He is the happiest baby, always smiling.  I love to hear his laugh and love hearing him say "mom".   He brings so much joy to our family.  I can't imagine our family without him.  Happy Birthday Garrett!
We celebrated his birthday with 2 parties.  The first one was with the Ropelato side of the family.  We met up at Jerry and Darinda's house for a birthday party for Garrett and Abby.  The kids had fun playing outside with cousins, and talking around the fire.  Garrett wasn't much into opening presents, but he LOVED eating his cake, lol.  I guess that is why is is such a chunky little guy.  He loves chocolate, and was in heaven eating his cake.

Mckell was a good big sister and helped Garrett open all his presents. Like I said, he wasn't at all interested in opening presents.
I guess as we were out playing in the yard, some of Jerry and Darinda's nighborhood girls saw Hunter and thought he was cute.  They came over, giggling, to ask Jerry if Hunter wanted to play games with them.  I guess Hunter overheard this and took off running, lol.  He was hiding under trees from them.  Dave and Jerry ended up making Hunter come and sit by the fire and talk with them.  Darinda and I couldn't believe they were encouraging Hunter talking to girls.  Later that night Hunter told me that he had never been so scared of girls before in his whole life, lol.  Let's keep it that way Hunter :)
We also had a party with the Wangsgard side of the family at our house.  Lexi helped Garrett open his presents at this party, although I think he understood that there were things for him inside, so he was a bit more interested in the presents at this party.
I think Lexi thought it was just as much her birthday as it was Garrett's.  She loved playing with all his new toys.
Garrett had a GREAT 1st birthday!  My baby is growing up.

~1st Place Baby!~

Hunter won 1st place in his Pinewood Derby!  Whoot! Whoot!  Way to Go Hunter!
The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Hunter, Davis, and Conner.

Hunter's car.
Years ago at Hunter's last pinewood derby, Dave was having problems at work with people from Russia trying to hack into the systems.
So needless to say, Dave was MIA. Grandpa Wangsgard stepped up and helped Hunter make his pinewood derby car.  It took 2nd place, so this time Hunter said he wanted Grandpa to help him make another winner.  The two of them worked several evenings making this car.  They even drove up to Honeyville to have a guy up there help them cut out the car and work on the wheels.  All their time paid off, cause they made another winner :) 1st place Baby!

~Spring Dance Recidal~

Tonight was Mckell and Lexi's spring dance recidal.  They did GREAT!!!! Tonight was also Hunter's pinewood derby, so the girls (including both grandma's) went to the dance recidal and the boys (including both grandpa's) went to the Pinewood Derby.
Lexi couldn't wait to get her red lipstick on :)  She thinks she looks like Snow White with it on, lol.
Lexi LOVES to dance!
The girls with the flowers Grandma Susan gave them.  They had a really fun night.  On the way home we met up with the boys for ice cream.  It was a fun night :)

~Party with the Girls~

Mckell was so excited to have a friend party this year.  She invited 14 friends, and they had a blast! We met at our house for pizza and presents, then headed to Classic Fun Center in Layton for Laser tag and to play on the bounce toys and in Pirates Cove, then we stopped at McDonalds for ice cream.
As I was looking back at these pictures, I noticed that 2 girls are missing.  Chloe and Kailee (Guess they didn't want to be in the group picture).
We had so many girls that we had to enlist help from both our Grandmas.  Susan drove a car full of girls, and Darinda let us borrow her Tahoe and then watched Garrett while we were gone.
I'm glad that Mckell has such a cute group of friends :)

~Happy Birthday Beautiful Mckell~

Look who's 8!  Mckell had a GREAT birthday.  She celebrated at school with her friends and then that evening with the Wangsgard side of the family.
Toni pampered her by doing her nails.
Lexi did not want to be left out :)
Mckell got all kinds of things for her birthday.  She got clothes, a Taylor Swift CD, stuff for her room, nail polish, and a big ball that you climb inside of and roll around.
You can kindof see Mckell's outline inside of the ball.  The kids had a lot of fun rolling around the yard in it.
Mckell is such a sweet girl!  She is also such a GREAT helper to me.  She is always willing to take care of Garrett, she will help Lexi clean her room (which Lexi is grateful for because most times she has been sitting in her room for several hours cleaning but not really cleaning it), and she will share things and treats with Hunter.  She is such a blessing to our family.  We love her!  I love that she is kind to everyone.  Her class wrote her a birthday card and some of the things the kids wrote about her are: "You are pretty and smart and a very good friend" - Carver  "You're an awesome friend.  You have cool clothes too.  I love you like you're my sister!" - Merin  "You are nice and really smart.  You have lots of friends." -Alex   "You are one of my best friends.  I love your beautaful blond hair." - Emma "You run really fast.  I think you are going to do good in the walk-u-thon" -Conner
Mckell is so caring and wants everyone to be happy.  I am so lucky to be her mom!
